Recollections of My Puppy by Arthur Alan Wolk is a poignant, funny, and sometimes tear-evoking book chronicle of the first year of the life of Boo, Arthur's beloved Golden Retriever. All proceeds to benefit The Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) and other animal shelters around the country.
It's a fact - most American pet owners - 9 out of 10 surveyed - consider their pet a member of the family. Many of them allow their pet to lie on the furniture, sleep in a family member's bed and even go on family vacations - AND 6 out of 10 buy their furry friends presents for Christmas! Boo's Dad is one of these loving pet owners. Boo has the run of the house, enjoys good eats and recently even traveled with his Dad in a private jet!

Yes, Boo is one lucky dog. But it's not because she gets to sleep in a bed or because she flew in an airplane, it's because she has a loving home - something that many animals are not so fortunate to have.
According to pet statistics published on the Internet, approximately 5 to 7 million companion animals enter animal shelters nationwide every year - and appoximately 3 to 4 million of them are euthanized (60% of dogs and 70% of cats). Most of these animals could be saved if someone would adopt them. Approximately 25% of dogs in shelters are adopted and 15% returned to their owner. The remainder are destroyed.
Twenty-five percent of the dogs who enter local shelters are purebred, like Boo.
Individually, we might not be able to save every dog, but each of us CAN make a difference to one (or two) dogs by adopting them and giving them a home.

How You Can Help Animals In Need...
"I am one of the lucky ones - trust me, I know! I have a loving Dad, a warm place to sleep, food to eat and medicine when I need it. But there are lots of people and animals that are not so lucky. Thank goodness for animal shelters or all those animals would be homeless!
Dad and I decided that we want to try to make a difference - but we need your help!
If you buy my book, we will donate all of the profits to animal rescues. Our local shelter is The Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), so that is where we will donate the profits unless you have your own preferred shelter.
Animal shelters need monetary donations to vaccinate pets, get them spayed & neutered to help control the pet poplulation, buy food and litter... well, you get the point! So, just for buying my book, you are helping an animal in need somewhere. Thank you for that!
If everyone does a little,
we can all help a lot."
